EDUCATION

Anita Barnhart, LCSW, MSW received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work.

CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Ms. Anita Barnhart is a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania who has experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Prior to joining AMHA she worked as a staff clinician for Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic’s STAR (Services for Teens at Risk) Clinic and specialized in working with At-Risk Teens with mood disorders. She also has experience working with adults with co-occurring mood and substance use disorders at CPCDS (Center for Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Services) at WPIC. Ms. Barnhart completed advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy.

SPECIAL INTERESTS

Treatment of depression (including suicidality and self harm), anxiety, substance use, and life adjustment issues utilizing Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies.
