Barbara C. Penner

EDUCATION

Ms. Penner received her Master of Science degree in Child Development and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Barbara Penner has performed many clinical functions over her professional career. She has served as Director of Wellness Services and has been instrumental in developing and facilitating behavioral medicine programs which foster better health, including weight loss, smoking cessation and stress management programs. She is trained in Cognitive Therapy. In addition, Barbara is trained in Critical Incident Debriefing and Diffusing and has provided these interventions as needed. She operates Inner Resources, AMHA’s organizational behavioral health division. Barbara is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.

SPECIAL INTERESTS

Barbara enjoys conducting training programs for individuals and groups to maximize their physical and emotional health.

Accepting a job offer from Dr. Chris Coburn in 1985 to work with AMHA and Inner Resources.

THINGS YOU WOULD FIND ME DOING ON THE WEEKENDS

On the best weekends, I’m skiing with my family, on a good weekend, playing with family and friends at the farm, and on not-so-good weekends, doing chores around the house.
