    EDUCATION

    Amy DeMario, LCSW, MSW received her undergraduate degree from Duquesne University. She received her graduate degree in clinical social work from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed approved internships at the Family Therapy Training Center of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

    CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

    Mrs. Amy DeMario has worked on staff as a clinician at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic since 2003 in the child and adolescent outpatient clinic of the Center for Children and Families, the Pediatric Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program, and in the outpatient school-based programs at Schenley High School and Taylor-Allderdice High School. She supervised and trained graduate psychology and social work interns at the Family Therapy Training Center of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. In addition, she has conducted staff development training on subjects of family therapy and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Mrs. DeMario is certified in Exposure/Response Prevention therapy from the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation Behavioral Therapy Institute. She utilizes E/RP, Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for the treatment of OCD. Additionally, Mrs. DeMario is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

    SPECIAL INTERESTS

    Special clinical interests include obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and children adjusting to chronic medical conditions.

    MOST IMPORTANT CAREER MOMENTS

    Joining AMHA in 2009. Co-developing the Pediatric Outpatient Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Group Program, in which Mrs. DeMario provides family therapy and parenting sessions for children enrolled in the OCD treatment group.
