EDUCATION
Liz Vecenie, LCSW, attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA and graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Psychology . She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008.
CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Liz is a licensed clinical social worker. Prior to joining Allegheny Mental Health Associates, she worked as a social worker at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) from 2008-2011. Liz worked at the Pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Clinic at WPIC and then transitioned to working at the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program at Western Psychiatric. Liz is certified by the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation Behavior Therapy Training Institute to utilize exposure with response prevention therapy to treat OCD. Liz uses exposure with response prevention (ERP), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and Inference Based CBT (ICBT) as treatment options for OCD. Liz enjoys taking an integrative approach, using multiple treatment modalities, to help clients with their presenting issue(s).
SPECIAL INTERESTS
Treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and other anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, helping clients navigate life changes and/or significant stressors, and ADHD. Liz enjoys working with young adults and adults to help them meet their treatment goals.
THINGS YOU WOULD FIND ME DOING ON THE WEEKENDS
Spending time with friends and family, reading, watching movies, exploring hiking trails with her dog, and other outdoor activities.
