EDUCATION
Rebecca Golden-Trist, LMFT, LPC received her undergraduate degree from Earlham College in Richmond, IN. She received her graduate degree in marriage and family therapy from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA.
CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Rebecca is a licensed marriage and family therapist as well as a licensed professional counselor. She worked as an in home family therapist for three years before moving to outpatient therapy. Rebecca is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which is used to treat symptoms of PTSD and is also trained in EMDR therapy. Rebecca is also a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
SPECIAL INTERESTS
Special clinical interests include couples therapy, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss and depression.
MOST IMPORTANT CAREER MOMENTS
Rebecca spent her 20s volunteering in various countries around the world. This provided her the opportunity to travel and experience various cultures. She spent a year in Belfast, Northern Ireland doing cross-community youth work, two years in Punta Gorda, Belize, doing HIV/AIDS education for the Peace Corps and two years in Tecklenburg, Germany working in a L’Arche community.
THINGS YOU WOULD FIND ME DOING ON THE WEEKENDS
When the weather is nice I enjoy talking walks with friends in the local parks. I also enjoy reading, creating craft projects inspired by Pinterest, going to museums and traveling.
