    EDUCATION

    Sean J. Healey, Psy.D. earned his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University. He received his Master’s degree from Waynesburg University and his doctoral degree from Carlow University. Dr. Healey completed his psychology internship in Primary Care and Clinical Psychology at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with rotations in the Family Medical Center, inpatient psychiatry (Adult, Geropsychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Units), and Consultation/Liaison Service to specialty clinics. He completed his postdoctoral training in psychological assessment and treatment with specializations in working with individuals with chronic illness and the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders.

    CREDENTIALS/PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

    Dr. Healey is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, where he serves on the Integrated Care Committee. In addition to his background in psychological assessment and treatment, Dr. Healey has served as the executive director of a community mental health center, where his responsibilities included program development and evaluation, clinical supervision and training. Dr. Healey utilizes various treatment methods including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and mindfulness-based interventions.

    SPECIAL INTERESTS

    Treatment for individuals experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, as well as helping others effectively manage ADHD, stress, and anger. Dr. Healey is particularly interested in helping individuals cope with chronic illnesses while maintaining a high quality of life. His training and experience includes working with individuals with sleep disorders, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, functional gastrointestinal conditions, HIV/AIDs and other autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, and neurological conditions (ALS, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury). He also conducts pre-surgical and pre-treatment psychological evaluations. Additionally, Dr. Healey provides consultation and training services on integrated care topics locally and regionally.
